Hollow paddle dryer is a horizontal stirring and heat conduction type drying equipment that can work continuously. Its stirring blade is like a ship paddle, so it is called a paddle dryer. In abroad countries, it is also called a slot dryer or stirring dryer.

Working Principle

• Hollow Paddle Dryer is a continuous indirect heating device for drying (cooling) materials
• There are two parallel rotary shafts inlaid with interlaced paddles in the jacket shell
• Each shaft is inlaid with hollow fan-shaped paddles staggered at a certain interval, and the shaft rotates at a low speed
• The heat medium enters the hollow rotary shaft and paddle through the rotary joint installed at the end of the rotary shaft
• After heat transfer and drying, it is discharged out of the machine through the rotary joint
• Heat medium will also be introduced into the jacket

Wedge-shaped hollow blades are densely arranged on the hollow shaft, and the heat medium hollow shaft flows through the blades. The heat transfer area in the unit effective volume is very large, and the temperature of the heating medium ranges from -40°C to 320°C. It can be steam or liquid: such as hot water, heat transfer oil, etc. Indirect conduction heating, heat is used to heat the material. The heat loss is only heat dissipation to the environment through the insulation layer of the body.

The wedge-shaped blade heat transfer surface has a cleaning function. The relative movement of the material particles and the wedge-shaped surface produces a scrubbing effect, which can wash away the attached material on the wedge-shaped surface so that a clean heat transfer surface is maintained during operation.

The shell of the paddle dryer is W-shaped, and two to four hollow stirring shafts are generally arranged in the shell. The shell has a sealed end cover and an upper cover to fully play a role in preventing the leakage of material dust. The heat transfer medium flows through the shell jacket and the hollow stirring shaft through the rotary joint. The hollow stirring shaft has different internal structures according to the type of heat medium to ensure the best heat transfer effect.
